Postdoctoral position at HPSynC--X-Ray Science Division, APS

High Pressure Synergetic Consortium (HPSynC) of the Geophysical Laboratory, Carnegie Institution of Washington, seeks a postdoctoral researcher to work at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne National Laboratory. Job Description: Responsible for conceiving and implementing high pressure synchrotron radiation research, and for designing, constructing, and operating synchrotron equipment. Closely work with the HPSynC group for implementing state-of-the-art high pressure synchrotron radiation research. Responsible for reporting relevant results in an appropriate form.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Considerable
Knowledge of high pressure synchrotron radiation physics, experience in x-ray scattering, spectroscopy or imaging technique and related instrumentation, methods, and applications. • Capability to work closely with the HPSynC group on state-of-the-art high pressure synchrotron radiation research • Knowledge of physics, chemistry, materials science, nanoscience, and earth science. • Knowledge of high pressure diamond anvil cell techniques is a plus. • Skill in designing and implementing precision instrumentation. • Skill in understanding abstract concepts and synthesizing results within the experimental and theoretical framework. • Skill in written and oral communication.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: Years Since Ph.D. -- 0-1, 1-2, 2-3
