Wes Huntress, Director Emeritus of the Geophysical Laboratory, has been appointed to the Space Studies Board (SBS) of the National Research Council. The Board is composed of prominent scientists, engineers, industrialists, scholars, and policy experts in space research. A representative member of the SSB's standing committees also serve as members of the Board. Congratulations, Wes!

Geophysical Laboratory Alum, Adrienne Kish, was named as a tenured professor at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris. She will begin January 1, 2014 studying extremophiles (and hopefully branching into astrobiology) as well as teaching at the Sorbonne's science faculty (Université Pierre et Marie Curie) across the park from the Museum. Adrienne was a postdoctoral associate from 2008-2009 working with Andrew Steele.

Congratualtions, Adrienne!
