Glaciers in New York Field Exercise

Note: In April (2006) this exercise was selected for inclusion in the Digital Library for Earth System Education where you can find additional documentation.

Below you'll find the downloadable pdf documents that comprise a laboratory entitled: Glaciers in New York. 550 Columbia University first year undergraduates completed this laboratory in October, 2004 as a part of the inaugural year of Columbia University's new core curriculum class, Frontiers of Science.

Many thanks go to my collaborator and contributor Dr. Steve Goldstein of Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. Comments and suggestions from Robin Herrnstein, Judith Gibber, and many other members of the Columbia community were invaluable in the development of this project. E.C. was funded by a Columbia Science Fellowship.
