&lt;p&gt;Arun Bommannavar is the beamline control scientist at HPCAT. He is responsible for implementing EPICS controls for beamline control and data acquisition. His Ph.D. thesis was on studying Magnetic Relaxation Phenomenon in Ferrites using Mossbauer Spectroscopy. His interests in Physics include study of Magnetic materials. His hobby is software development using Java. He briefly worked at Motorola and Lucent Technologies as Java developer before joining HPCAT. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;image-clear&quot;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description>

He received a Ph.D. in Physics from University of Illinois and conducted research at the University of Houston.  He spent 2 years at BL12XU, the Taiwan Beamline at SPring-8, designing and commissioning a spectrometer for inelastic x-ray scattering.  Presently, he is a beamline scientist for HP-CAT at the spectroscopy station 16ID-D at the Advanced Photon Source.  His interest is in electronic excitations in metals.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;image-clear&quot;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description>

&lt;p&gt;Daijo Ikuta studied new technique for X-ray identification and crystal structure analysis of multiplesingle crystal phases on a glass thin section. His interest in this new technique is currently to refine this technique and to apply to unknown new minerals. With the use of synchrotron radiations and his thin-section method he examines the crystal structure of tiny and rare minerals in thin section. &lt;p&gt;Qiang Mei has a background in materials science &amp;amp; engineering and her research is on investigating structures of amorphous and optically relevant materials at ambient conditions and high pressure. Her doctoral dissertation was on investigating non-Arrhenius behavior in fast ion conducting glasses. Her earlier research includes synthesis and characterization of a variety of oxy-nitride glasses.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Yue Meng is a beamline scientist. He supports scientific staff and community with design, procurement, fabrication, setup, upgrade and repair of electrical, mechanical, ultra high vacuum (UHV), precision motion, optical, cryogenic, pneumatic, control and laser instrumentation for use with x-ray experimentation in a synchrotron environment at HPCAT, a high pressure research facility at the Advanced Photon Source.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Olga Shebanova is a postdoctoral associate working in HPCAT at Advanced Photon Source (ANL). She studies materials at high pressures and temperatures, using synchrotron x-ray diffraction and absorption techniques, optical spectroscopy.
