MMaceo is a licensed District of Columbia Third Class Engineer. He worked with Sears for 13 years before working for Carnegie Institution.
Pablo comes to CIW from Jasco Guerrero, a small picturesque town in Mexico well-known for its silver mines. On campus, he takes care of the mail and shipping . He had worked in construction jobs. 
Christos Hadidiacos’ work at the Geophysical Laboratory includes the day to day operation of the Electron Microprobe and Scanning Electron Microscope. This includes training and providing assistance to new and visiting users, performing routine maintenance, sample preparation, providing analytical support, and collaborating with staff and students.
Hadidiacos has designed temperature controllers for hydrothermal furnaces, piston cylinder heaters, the anvil press, Mossbauer spectrum collection and the diamond anvil press. He has also designed and programmed controllers to ramp up and down high pressure equipment, as well as hardware and software to automate the first electron microprobe and the single crystal diffractometer. more »

Shaun Hardy manages the joint research library of the Geophysical Laboratory and DTM and oversees the departments’ archives. As campus librarian he designs and implements information programs and services to support the departments’ scientific, administrative, and technical staff. Prior to coming to the Carnegie Institution in 1990 Hardy served as chief librarian of the Buffalo Museum of Science in Buffalo, NY. more »
Stephen Hodge was born in London, but grew up in the beautiful county of Wiltshire (the Cotswolds), England. After serving a four-year apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, he worked as a tool and diemaker with British Leyland. In 1979, he left England with several friends to work for Volkswagen of America in a stamping plant located in Charleston, WV. Hodge found the transition to America to be a great new experience, and he and his friends had a lot of fun in those early days. more »
Agnes Mao received her BA degree in Diplomacy from National Chen-Chi University, Taipei, Taiwan in 1966. She obtained her MLS degree in Library and Information Sciences from University of Maryland in 1970. From 1970 to 2000, she was working at various posts in the Collection Management Division at the George Mason University, VA. After her retired from 30-year librarian career at GMU, she is working as a volunteer helping Dave Mao at Geophysical Laboratory, Carnegie Institution of Washington.
Fabian is an engineer apprentice. He is studying to become a DC Third Class Engineer. He worked as maintenance supervisor in apartment complexes owned by Cullen inc. and Stella Advisors. Fabian loves to sing.
Susana comes with a background in foreign service. She worked as an analyst in the Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC. After her tour of duty there, she served in the economics division in the home office in Manila. Subsequently, she returned to Washington. She became a consultant, working on various publications. These include feasibility studies, proposals, presentations, books, and web content produced for Montgomery County and DC governments, NSF, a major mortgage association, telecommunications companies, and consulting firms. She helped plan conferences sponsored by the Geophysical Laboratory in Hawaii and the Philippines. more »
After 13 years working as Financial Accountant at the P St. headquarters, Trong came to the Geophysical Laboratory to join the new Support Staff in April 2006. He graduated from the School of Business Administration of George Mason University, and worked for the Fairfax County Public Schools before being employed by Carnegie. He lives in Annandale, Virginia with his wife and two children.
Eugene got his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at George Mason University in 2000. He worked for five years in Silicon Valley in the microprocessor industry. Prior to that, he was a design engineer at the National Key Lab on Microwave and Digital Communications in Beijing. He has published 25 papers and holds 3 patents in the field of electronics. more »
